Thought I'd best start a thread.
Bought this. Looks like it's a pro laminates shell with Hustler GT side pods bonded on. Has been done very well by the looks of it.
Pretty up and together. The engine has an Engle 110, balanced bits inside and ported head amongst other things.
As per usual, buy something perfectly reasonable and then pull it to bits as it's not exactly to our liking.
Wheels are tyres are being addressed this week all being well. The dash/speedo/tacho are all coming out to be replaced with something more traditional. And although the exhaust looks spot on, it sticks out helluva distance. Fortunately I know an exhaust man so thinking of getting it jiggled about so the merged part is vertical and tucks in better. (I'll get a side pic to show the distance it sticks out)
Here's some pics. We all like pics. :D

Strikes me you have a clear idea of your own tastes and know what's required to achieve such.
Whilst it essentially all looks pretty good to me ie I'd not feel I needed to change anything I do think the exhaust looks odd and new tyres all round always perks up a buggy.
Great to see the photos and to know more images and action is to follow !
They're Manta Ray sidepods, not Hustler ones.
Of course. ::) Teach me to skim read :o
Spending time enjoying it rather than sweating at it so not much happening.
Tyres never happened as on reflection the rears were ridiculously narrow and juts didn't look right so stayed with the 275/60 on the rear and bought a new set of 185/60 for the front. These won't be staying long as going to build and fit a new beam with better adjustment in it.
Might possibly settle on 205/60 ish. Still not sure. Roads are horrendous so I need to give the front and some thought.

Also wanting to get away from the 90s styling on the dash.
Bought a piece of 2mm carbon fibre sheet and one DXF file and a trip to the local water jetting company later and we have a new dash.
Lights are battery/oil/indicators/high beam. With main beam switch.
Would have liked old skool central beetle speedo but dash height doesn't allow unfortunately.

I Love the look of the Carbon Fibre. It gives it that new style but still looking Retro. Love the colour of the buggy too. Out of curiosity, do you know the offset of the rear wheels. I was looking at a set that were ET18. My measurements looked right but wanted to make sure.
Cheers chap 🙏🏻
I think they are 24. They sit fine on the inside but think I'll get another set made as 10" as they don't quite fill the arches out. ::)
Ah yep 10" do look great and fill in the empty spaces. Appreciate the info, thankyou.
Finally got my hoop in gear and fitted the dash.
Only minor issue was the LED tell tale for the indicators not seeing enough resistance so wired a 2w bulb in behind the dash (will buy a resistor and solder it on one day.....) ;)
Before and after. 10kg of billet taken out. :D
Dash has been hacked so still need to do some fettling with more carbon fibre and a bit of wrap to cover the gap at the bottom.

Looking good fella ;-)up
Managed to buy some 36s for very sensible money. Bit of smart shopping saw a brand new linkage and filter kit from marketplace for half the retail and a set of brand new 'seconds' manifolds from eurocarb.
Stripped, cleaned, rebuilt and rejetted ;-)up

So....
When I replaced the chromies I thought they were 8" so had a pair of 8" banded steels made. Took the chromies off and they were 10"🤦♂️
My shell has an odd phat ar$e to it and the 8" don't fill the back out.
(See below Piccie) You can guess where this is going......
Bought some new boots as a treat also. :D

The make of tyre also has an effect on the width of the tread as tyre with a squarer edge have more tread and fill the arches, we measured a few down at Beer and the same size 275/60 or what ever it was had different tread widths.
