So I bought a bucket of bits. It was all looking very tired and a few previous owners have tried to resurrect it. Having thrown quite a bit of cash , time and effort at it I still don't know what I have. I've included a picture of it's glory days ( working to improve on this) but what exactly is it. I'm under the impression it's a kyote 2 but I'm probably wrong. Anyone able to put me right? Half a bag of salt and vinegar crisps to anyone who can give accurate information.

What you've got is rather nice !
I salute the nod to yellow in the seat belts and nod to a MantaRay yet surely a Kyote II as you say.
Not seen a screen like that. It looks well on the body but does it let more wind around its inclined sides than a more rectangular one /
Yes that's one of James Hale's Kyote 2 's probably from the early 90s. The original US version had opening doors and a modular pickup truck/estate car hardtop system but James did away with those to make construction easier. It did gain the removable bonnet though.

This is how the American original looked.

You never cease to amaze me with the wealth of knowledge. Thanks for the confirmation. Sadly it currently doesn't look any thing like the picture it was in a very sad way when it arrive with me. The windscreen has been swapped at some stage with what I think is a Manx replica. The yellow seat belts are rotted which will be replaced with 3 point belts when we create a new roll bar as this one has been done away with as it was just for aesthetics. I've done a mountain of work on it since and will post info and pics as soon as I get chance to sit down and do it. I'm sure it's got agoraphobia and doesn't want to leave my nice warm garage as it's fought me o everything I've done so far.
It will soon enough look far more like David's American original if you spread a bit of sand on your drive and can get a surf board along with a couple of your neighbours to copy the poses...
Sand i can do, neighbours probably willing no surfboard but maybe able to park neighbours hovercraft in the pic. Give it that Yorkshire feel rather than calafornia look. ;D ;D
