Title: Fuel filler neck
Post by: SmilesPerGallon on April 05, 2025, 06:35:35 PM
I've had a we accident and damaged the end of the filler neck that the cap would sit on. ::)

Does anyone know where i can get a neck that the vw cap fits onto?

I'm at the stage of fitting it to the centre of the tank, so a one piece neck would be ideal

Centre bonnet fill you could weld a short pipe to the tank then fit an aero filler with a 50mm pipe andconnect them with a short hose and clips.

Thanks snoopy.  That would also be an option.

I've already got a monza cap that fits round the vw neck and the vw cap fits inside the monza cap.
I know it's my own fault, but it will be annoying if I was hoping to go for this look.

I thought someone must sell the neck, but I can't seem to find it.

It was if course the cap fitting part I damaged

Somebody willhave a scrap tank to cut a good neck off as the bottoms rust out not the fillers.

You'll need the early type tank with long neck to bottom right corner as the newer ones only have a 2 inch neck.
