Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has some advice on trimming the edge of the fiberglass body?
It's come with what looks to be the lip left from the moulding process.
I see there is a line just up from the lip which I'm guessing is where it needs trimmed to?
I did wonder about an air hacksaw using the lip as a guide and then sanding to final shape.
Also will it need some paint to seal it to avoid future delamination, or am I over thinking this?

I think I'd be inclined to masking tape down to the line then cut with a thin angle grinder disc or a Dremel.
Then smooth the cut edge at a 45 or so degree angle by hand with sandpaper on a block. No need to paint.
That sounds like it could be an easier and safer option.

As David says a 1mm cutting disc in an angle grinder does a neat job anything with teeth can break bits of gel coat off
Just an old school tip here.
I use a 1mm cutting disc generally but lets say you want to cut along a contour or a hole without using a cutting disc. For a hole take a "hole cutter" but remove the Kerf with a grinder. The kerf is the section where the cutting teeth are angled. This angling of teeth is to allow cut material to be removed during the cutting process and so not lock up the cutter. This kerfing results in a hole whose actual diameter is greater than the cutters stated diameter. Take a grinder to the outward facing teeth and grind flat to the diameter of the cutter main body. This then gives you less ragging to your cut hole and ensures a correct diameter. (Same goes for a jigsaw blade).
