Hi all,
It's a long story but need a new 200mm Kennedy stage 1 pressure plate. Everything seems to be nil stock other than ones labelled as Empi.
All plates are now around £190. Anyone experienced an Empi pressure plate or know anyone stocking a USA Kennedy one.
Thanks in advance.
Paul
It is what it is Paul not cheap but if it's what you need

He Hudge you are correct. Unfortunately this is also nil stock. Lead time appears to be late April. I'm asking if anyone had experience of the Empi supplied plate, this seems to be the only one stocked
When I was researching the Subaru conversion, everyone at the time said to go with the Kennedy one :-\
;-)up
Don't know if I want to wait until late April :'( The sun may shine one day :P :-\
EMPI is not the brand it used to be
I'd wait until you buy it right first time and the winter will still be in Cumbria become April you are that close to the Artic Circle 😎
Have you looked at the CB performance one

Penguins still wear their duffle coats in April up here ;D
It might be worth given Jim Calvert at Stateside a ring, it's just the kind of thing he'd have kicking around.
As for Empi their quality has come on leaps and bounds since a new CEO took over a few years ago, they really are doing some good stuff these days and have got rid of a load of the trash.
Thanks for the tip. Nothing shows up on the Stateside web site. I will ring ;-)up
I can get an Empi stage 1 plate, just unsure of the quality. May be worth trying.
Thanks,
Paul
No idea from personal experience but seen their stand at some shows this year and their kit.looks good. But then looks ain't everything
The Empi Stage 1 1700 lb clutch is actually a Kennedy clutch.
Empi just repackage it and sell it as their own.

Sure they've still got a little way to go but are getting there. The red ring of death is still nowhere near as dangerous as the rusty old collapsible steering columns that people are still fitting in the name of 'safety' though :-\

Agree with David on the columns just cut one of those off heavily corroded the newest originals on UK cars are 50 years old and have been exposed to the elements.
