Check valve clearances, a compression test will prove alll 4 cylinders have good pressure.
Set engine at tdc on number 1 firing so both valves are rocking then check firing order on distributor anti clockwise it is 1,2,3,4  also check static timing if points fitted by turning anti clockwise 90 degrees then test light on coil  cb wire to earth then ignition on and turn cw slowly light should come on 7.5 degrees before top dead centre.
Check fuel cut off on carb has live feed on ignition also check fuel pump is delivering fuel sometimes after engine out they need priming.

I'd be tipping some fuel directly in to the carb top and trying again before looking elsewhere. If it starts you know its fuel, if it doesn't start the process above.
