A Ford anglia 105E windscreen should be attainable but a renegade frame will be rare

Apals came from Belgium so not too many in this country. I guess you could convert the current bonnet to take a regular flat screen with some fibreglass work, a bit like how Dave DND converted his Hustler GT.

Orininal Renegades had an Anglia screen in a surround bent from aluminum extrusions, later ones had a fibreglass moulding like the one pictured but I'm guessing the moulds are long since lost, along with the Renegade moulds themselves.

I do have a fiberglass surround, but there's no way it will hold a screen, its more like some sort of 'cover' for a frame, but its all open at the back, nothing to close it with.

I was looking at extrusion that is made for boats (I think the original extrusions used on the original gp's etc was marine extrusion) but not successfully found anything that would work.

There is also an Anglia screen in a metal frame, apparently made by a 'blacksmith' at some point.  Do you have any idea how the fiberglass screen cover worked originally? (I assumed the one on the red renegade above was ally, but looking at it again, it could be a fiberglass one)

The fibreglass surround was introduced by James Hale as an alternative to an ally surround and the red buggy is fitted with one but iirc they swapped it soon after the photo shoot for an original one as it was flimsy. Could the glass one be strengthened in some way by maybe fibreglassing steel or wood pieces into the rear of it? Just thinking out loud  :-\

Think outside the buggy world https://kitspares.co.uk/products/windscreen-set-zero-ready-built depending on width and shape there must be others out there

Google 'Locost windscreen' for tips and how to's on bending and fixing aluminium extrusions for screen frames. There are a couple on the net.

I have watched aluminium extrusions being bent by hand and bits of steel spigot welded to steel plate as a jig. The secret seemed to be heating the aluminium up with a blow torch to a specific heat, bending a bit, heating again and so on. The resulting product had none of the signs of stress fracturing that I have had when cold bending.

At some point I have seen, possibly on one of the multitude of American car restorers that I watch, where the guy used a "sharpie" to mark the aluminium where it needed bending. Upon heating to the point where the sharpie squiggles drawn on the ally disappeared he started the bending.
