Built on a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle floor pan this beach buggy is registered as an historic vehicle so no tax required which makes this cheap to own and run.
Engine is quiet and revs freely, clutch and gearbox operate well.
A good looking vehicle with lots of period features, in fact could be described as time warp.
Starts and runs but requires a brake overhaul and attention to the fuel tank which has signs of a small leak. The floor pan is in exceptionally good condition with no sign of any notable corrosion.
Not noticeable unless you zoom in on the bodywork images is that the lacquer has shrunk over time and has produced a surface finish similar to snake skin. I think that this finish is endearing and in keeping with the period and fun intention of the vehicle. Other than that the paint finish is stable and not flaking.
The registration number is DKX 426F, not a Q plate as some buggy's are registered with.
Was purchased with the view of recommissioning as part of a private collection but a change of direction makes it available. Buyer is responsible for collection/uplift.
Now need space in the garage, so no reasonable offer refused ;-)up
