Hi all, thank you to everyone who has been supporting the 'young lives v cancer' fund raising which in turn the charity have been helping support Ollie, Andy and Cat. To help top up the funds we will be running a raffle at the Ashbourne buggy event in July. I'm asking if people could help donate prizes towards this. If you are coming to Ashbourne can you let me know if you can bring something or if you aren't but can donate then let me know and I can arrange to come and collect from you. Thank you all for your kindness and generosity so far  :-*

Elvaston Food Festival looks a relaxed welcoming venue about 35 minutes drive from Swinscoe. I like places that are free.

Could we contact them and ask if they can provide a parking area for 30 buggys which we will then display for them ? Their response will indicate if they value our offer.

Elvaston show organisers are being pro active and have asked for buggy promotional material nearer the date of our visit so it should be a good cruise venue.

Elvaston have given us a parking area.
HI Keith

Thank you for the promo stuff, I will put that on the Facebook page nearer the time.

I will leave some space at the top of the field for approximately 30 buggies.

Look forward to meeting you in a few weeks time.

Kind Regards
Ruth

Is there a plan for the cruise to Elvaston i.e. what time you will be setting off?  We plan to come to Ashbourne on the Saturday but have a few things we need to do in the morning.  So, trying to work out if we can make Elvaston.    Thanks in advance.

Also we are joining you for the meal on the Saturday (confirmed with Vanessa).

Hi Tony the cruise will leave at 10am but you can go straight to Elvaston if it suits then cruise back Parking is £4.50 for 4 hours and event entry is free.

What three words location,   postings.reversed.zone  Address: Elvaston Castle, Main Car Park, B5010 DE72 3EN which is the cricket club entrance nearby.

We have Granddaughter stuff on first thing Saturday.  If we get clear of that we will just head straight to Elvaston as it will be faster (though mainly M1).  If not we will see you all in Ashbourne at the pub.

Thanks again

Just a reminder that we are collecting raffle prizes for next weekend in Ashbourne and we would appreciate any donations. We are also going to have a little bit of fun and do a mystery auction  :-X So don't forget your cash. All money raised will going to the charity 'Young lives vs cancer.'There will be a small charge for the quiz which Paul Smith is organising and Vicky will also be selling some of her delicious biscuits  :D

Keith's suggestion of a trip to the Food festival at Elvaston Castle was inspired - yes it wasn't a massively long cruise and we got seperated on the return journey as the heavens opened but the relaxed venue was entertaining enough to stop, eat, drink and check engines. Paul & Sue kindly gave me bespoke tour of the slightly neglected gardens around the faded grandeur of the ageing 'big house'. Oh to drive a buggy in and out of the yew hedges spaced to accomodate a buggy as well as to the numerous forgotten follies and 'eye catchers' in the sprawling grounds.

Thanks to all who braved the weather (Friday it never stopped raining from 8am) and the cruise culminated in a monsoon that flooded the roads and visibility went to very little.
Thanks to Vanessa, Allan, Gary H, DC and Paul for their input as well as everyone who donated prizes for the charity raffle.
Best say what happens in Ashbourne stays in Ashbourne and we now have more folks with buggies joining the crew.
A great weekend even if we had to do evening stuff inside a cow shed.
