After having this shell in the workshop for almost 10 years I have finaly started to rebuild it, the main shell is a 1970 Powerspeed LWB Powerbug with a MkII GP bonnet on a 1969 1200 chassis, not a purist resto I have grafted an original Beetle dash onto the old dash frame and used the Beetle fuel filler flap/cap on the bonnet

Looking good and saving an old shell👍
and used the Beetle fuel filler flap/cap on the bonnet
This is a novel and neat idea. Don`t think I have ever seen anyone else do this.
Great. Looks like you have all the main parts you need, more than enough equipment and imagination.
Whereabouts are you based ?
Thanks for the welcome guys, will post some more pics soon. BTW I'm based in Bristol

Can't say I have ever seen that either - Nice one ;)
OK so I am going to thank/blame you guys for this but I fell in love with the ass of the red buggy in the forum header so had a bit of a trim this morning :D

a coat of primer has highlighted some moulding wibbles and a bit of un-symmetrical trimming (by me), so a good few coats of high build a a few hrs blocking on Friday then a timing tweek and all should be good

Looking good
Hope you left enough space for the lights

I have a cunning plan for the lights, for now I will just say they won't be traditional
Managed a few hours on the buggy today , first job was to loose the old bonnet pin holes and the recess for the GP badge

Then it was onto the underside, did some prep and tried out a new rubber paint, will have to wait till tomorrow to see if it has worked as expected

That's taking shape nicely!
I must say I love the shape of the body, I will be following this build with a keen eye.
Two jobs today, started on the steering column, started with an original unit, dumped the original switch gear and cowl, shortened the shaft, turned down the the top to fit the new aftermarkey switch gear that now does indicators, lights and wipers, and tirned some split bronze bushes, have done 2 but think I may have gone over the top and original only had top guide so may try it with just the one at the top.

Had to hold back on the paint today, I changed my mind on how I wanted to fit the bonnet, in my mind there are no visible fastenings so I had to laminate some extensions to the bonnet so the fixings could be relocated under the main body line

Looking good. What did you use to post the pics
Paul
I'm using google photo (free with a gmail email account), my phone is set to auto sync so I dont have to transfer from my phone manualy, I posted in another thread a how to see below
QuoteI'm using google photos, all free and seems to work fine, took a bit of reading to work out how but simple once found.
open the image in google photo, right click and copy location, paste into post now the important bit where the address string ends in '-no' add '?.jpg' so the end will read -no?.jpg then as usual highlight the image address and click the forum image button to wrap it in [img] tags
Ta. ;-)up
Paul
Nosebolt. Downloaded the app etc. Will this work via an IPhone. What do I do to rightclick a :-\
Paul
I don't have an iPhone, and to be honest I only visit the forum on my desktop, sorry

I am not able to see any of the photos ever since the first few went up, all I get is this now...
Could you not just right click the image, where ever its being stored, and just use that web address with
img tags at each end... Like this ?
Peter
No answer, sorry, but all I can say is I can see all images on my MacMini, iMac and windows laptop, so so good on android S6.
Not that it will help with the bigger issue but I can share the album, but be warned theres a lot more photos than in this thread >:(

Peter, I'm with you. Gotta keep things simple for my sausage fingers ;D
Paul
Don`t like hijacking this excellent build thread with Photo problems, but your picture host provider is not allowing some of your photos to be shared across all browser formats. This is not a fault of where the forum is hosted.
The industry has had a bit of an awakening with what Photobucket have just done, and I suspect that this scenareo will be somewhat fluid as other picture hosts watch what is happenning.
Anyway, @Nosebolt, if you need an edit function so that you can re-tag some of your pictures, then just let me know ;)
That explains why I can't see any of the pictures on my phone.
Nor me. Could see the original ones though :-\
