Not long till this, next show after Volksworld,
Have arranged a Buggy parking area, and there is a prize or "best alternative aircooled" So bring your buggy along and win a prize.

Sam
Hope to have mine finished in time but could be tight :-\
hopefully lol ;-)up
so if the weather decides to say hello ...whos going, where we meeting and at what time ....lets just call this the first meet of the year lol,if its sunny ;-)up
no reply ,what a surprise lol :o
I should be there too,can remember staggering about there i couple of years ago.Don't think i'll be in the buggy tho :-[ :'(
Well I'm up for it. I did the online advance tickets and club pass from the website yesterday. The ticket for admission is £5 and then the club passes are free - just to make sure the area for the club is big enough and entry into the prizes. (then a £1 for postage)
Going by Facebook this morning, they are doing all they can to ensure the parking is all nice and prepared and not water logged incase this weather continues for the next week.
Come on..... the weather MUST improve soon - PLEAAAASSSSSEEEEEEE..........

Yep - was a great show that year - I even made it in my buggy - in fact was one of the few Priscilla made it too that year!
(http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m625/print465/Photobucket%20Desktop%20-%20Andrew%20Robinsons%20MacBook%20Pro/photobucket%20export/207768_10150211526826798_529966797_8238452_791363_n.jpg)
Lets be positive, its going to be sunny, so I've ordered my ticked and pass 8)
just ordered tickets for myself and Candy so we will be there! And the sunshine too!!!!!!
just ordered my ticket as comeing on my own as the boy as a party lol ;-)up
Will be there and hope to be in buggy ???
i will be in the buggy ,dependent on the sunshine ...who wants to meet at the pub for bacon buttys and coffee(on me)and then a drive down and maybe meet up along the way with others..........i also have a spare seat if anyone who wants a blast can have ..... ;-)up
Chris, what route you going to take on way over mate?
We can meet at my house in great dunmow, or at the services in boreham if anyone fancies?
Sam
Well certainly, I'll meet Chris (and Mark) at Chris's pub. Will try and get any of the folks local to me to head that way too.
Sam, would have thought with the new location this year, Great Dunmow may be a bit of a detour for us lot, services at Boreham may be possible but again may not be en route - should our groups meet up closer to destination so we drive in together?
I am assuming we are doing M25 round to junction 29 onto A127 ???
Yeah I thought it a de tour too, just a though, May meet Clem and any Colchester buggies at the boreham services. the head down.
Sam
spot on andy ,make sure we meet at mine early so i caN HAVE THE BACON BUTTYS AND COFFEE READY,SO WHO ELSE IS MEETING AT MINE FOR THE BLAST TO BOREHAM SERVICES? ;-)up BETTER FINISH THE BUGGY THEN IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS LOL ;D
close.... very very close......I tell ya! ;-)up ;D ;D
And now there's food - I will be there - dont you worry!
If we dont make it to Boreham services and instead our lot do the M25 to A127, I have found a place we could join Sam, Clem etc on the A1245 just before the show ground - especially since we have to enter it on the south bound carriageway on the A1245.
so cool cant waite...lets make a list whos at mine for food....and at what timwe ?
me
andy
OK I've edited Sam's first post to create the list of names going and where meeting - well am guessing who/where.
Just add your names below and I will add to the master list at the top. ;-)up

cool hope to see you at mine, mr .robinson what time at my place and is there anyone else coming ?need to no on amount of butties to get ready ;-)up
Hi Chris well at the moment I'd say 5-6 but am sure we will know more closer to next weekend of course, can we give you numbers say Thursday /Friday?
Time wise??? Again lets confirm later on but would suggest 8-8.30 at yours.
Show cars have to be In position by 10am according to the website. Because I'm running the engine in on its first 500 miles I have to take it easy anyway - allow an hour to get there???
Snowing here this morning hope weather improves by several degrees by next weekend :(
Meet at 8am, that means I have to be up at 07:55 :'(
ha ha ha what was with the flying visit this morning then? ::)
I was just returning from taking the buggy out to see if the rear calipers were stil sticking and thought I had seen your garage open on my way out, so popped by, but all was locked up, and as it was snowing went home, but I will be stopping off for longer tonight, see you there.
just off to get some fuel mark lol ;D
Only a few days this this one,
I will be at the boreham services (BP petrol station) from 0900- 0920 approx.???????
Then down the a12- A130 to Rayleigh weir (where we will meet the others?????) before going down the A1245 to the showground.
I hope that's correct?
My number is 07921 822 104 if anyone wants give me a call or text to let us know your on your way etc.

Hi Sam, going by the web site is it correct that we need to be there before 10am and in which case, what time are you intending arriving at the site? :)
I've got my tickets in the post this morning, just hoping the buggy will be on the road.
I am good to go guys ,few teething problems just need a new dizzy as this accuspark one is sh.. and causeing me all the problems ,miss fires etc still works so what time at mine boys ... >:(
Mr R hoping to arrive on the site around 9.45 do you thinks that's a bit late? 9.30 any better???? I think from memory Rayleigh weir is around 10 mins away,
What times did you have in mind???
Sam
Got my ticket in the post today, weather looks like its going to be reasonable weekend ;-)up ;-)up ;-)up
Mine tickets have arrived too!!! may have a spare ticket as not sure Mrs L can make it,
will know on the day, :) :)
Sam
Cheers Sam, not sure, to be honest was more wondering what you thought - wasn't sure how strict the 10am thing was.
OK the 9.45 arrival looks to make sense. So as long as the boys meeting at Chris is ok by that, then yes makes sense.
We won't be rushing as such as certainly both Chris and myself are running in new engines so no cruising at 80mph!!!! (In fact I have just had a call to say the MOT has been passed, he's dropping it off later this afternoon. And seems to cruise at 55mph at 2500rpm so thats my speed sorted..... until she's run in, then after that...! :D :D :D
60 WILL BE FINE YOU SPEED DEMON LOL... ;-)up SEE YOU SAT MORNING NICE AND EARLYLOL
OK all sounds good guys, Anyone meeting me then closer to 9am then better at boreham, then we can aim to meet the boys at Rayleigh for 9.30?
Quick 10 min run further down to the show for 945.
Congrats Mr R on the MOT, look forward to seeing her again!!!! also looking forward to seeing Chris's buggy. lots of exciting buggies for this years shows!!!!!!
Sam

Wait a min Chris..... hold your horses..... think about it..... If Clem isn't there in his buggy, that leaves the rest of us with just a fighting chance of a getting a prize! If he was there in the buggy we wouldn't stand a chance!!! ;D ;D ;D ;-)up
Seriously, Clem are you sure you can't change the dates so you can come in the buggy? (Is the roll bar being drop off at the show? If not, in which case, can't you try and get a lift in one of the other buggies so you are part of the convoy? Come on you know you want too!!! :) :) :)

Argh.... In that case, you might just win the argument!!! ;D ;D ;D
The guy doing my stainless bars is local and needs buggy to fit and make rear cage some of my mates might be coming in their buggy's will know Friday but I will be there ;-)up
Andy/Chris are we still meeting at 8ish
Think we will need to leave at 9am to be on the safe side I reckon. So what do you think Chris?
As I said assuming we are doing M25 route (makes sense) then I have to cruise at 55mph really (may be a touch more). Will see how I get on as I get used to the buggy and the new engine in the next 2 days. :)
I won't hold you up, mine will easily cruise at 70. I think the only issue is going to be the wind chill, we might all end up doing 30 to try and stay alive.
On the plus, went over to see how they were getting on with my buggy this evening. Everything is sorted and I'm picking up tomorrow after they have fitted my gearbox strap for me.
9 at boreham sounds good.me and my mate tony should be in buggies and possibly another mate, andy, in his camper.
looking forward to it :)
Andy, I do know a route via country lanes, if you fancy it, out through Epping forest, Theydon Bois, Brentwood, down to the A127
mark we will go that way mate so much easier and yes 8 sharp iof not earlier so we can have a laugh and a butty lol
I will be there on the Saturday but in the truck. Not sure if ill meet at boreham in a support vehicle capacity or meet you all there.
Country lanes sound good to me - much preferred! Though I guess the issue is the time it takes that way and what time we leave - we can decide on the morning ;-)up
get here early ,chill and then set off i will be here from 6.30 so plod along when u wish matey :)
The country lane route doesn't take much longer than the m25, we can decide on Sat.
country lane way will be much cooler to go ,gordon is comeing with us too matey ..road runner ..so all be at mine early lol ;-)up
Chris, Kelly-Ann is running co-pilot for me
cool my man

H
Got most of the mud and straw off the buggy ,good run there tunnel was mad .but show was pants, sorry who orginised it but don't give up your day jobs, not putting on list for next year
Some good news, the sdbc picked up best club award, and Chris picked up best buggy ;-)up, had good run back.
Just got home from the show, shame all the buggies got stuck out on our own really, Ground was far to wet to have cars or even foot traffic on it. The weather hasn't helped atall.
Shame as all the elementals I've been too in the past have been excellent, Still it is my local show and I will still continue to go in the future, I hope they will improve/ change the venue for next time!!!!!
Still on a brighter note the SDBC won the best club prize and
Chris (of the bulls head fame) won Best alternative aircooled!!! well done mate
Se you all soon
Sam
Well done chris and well done sdbc
Although compared to previous years it was dogs poo
Also good to see new Essex based buggy owners
Great to get out in the buggy today - and to finally get it to a show!
Good to catch up with friends and meet some new faces too.
I have to agree with the comments made already - the Elementals that I have attended in the past at Stanstead seemed much better organised and had a nice vibe about them...this one sadly, did not - maybe they can work on it for next year...
Well done Chris - buggy looked ace - well deserved mate. ;-)up
Good to meet some you there and have a look over your buggies.
As a newbie to the buggy 'scene' that's all I came along for really, the rest of the show seemed to be a bit of a mess, no real structure, a few cars here and there.
More interest in looking round the car park (if you had your wellies on) I know these events have to have some sort of income, but the trade stands seem to dominate everything these days and it feels having to pay to go into a shopping area. The cars and people that they are supposed to be about are just secondary with clubs, cars etc shoved into a corner somewhere.
Probably a good laugh if your camping there for the weekend with bars open late etc. but not much for the day visitor imo :-\
Well was my first Elemental so can't really comment too much but did seem a bit scattered & unorganised, was great to catch up with you all though and well done to Chris & SDBC! :)
Thanks to Matt too for bringing my hoop, couldn't wait to get home and start fitting it! ;-)up
Kenny that last comment is useless without pics mate
I will tomorrow, I did say start fitting it ??? Got to go to work tomorrow and liberate some bolts to finish it off then will put up some pics!
Well...erm..... It was an eventful journey there for me. Full of highs and lows. Well actually more lows. Low tyre pressure..... Very low tyre pressure .....
Then felt low as I thought with a knackered tyre wasn't going to make it. But I was soon back on the road after my wallet was a bit lower to the tune of £95. Then felt low again, low on engine power that is. The low on fuel....very very very low on fuel ... Oops! So the guys headed on whilst I waited for the AA on the m25 . On the road again and made it to the show ground about an hour late.
The show itself well yes certainly not the best location. Always v hard when the success of the show outgrows a location. The mud didn't help either. But was a fine end to the day. Congrats to Chris on his buggy very very well deserved - I reckon it's the first time an electric buggy has won anything! (see told ya we had to keep Clems buggy away!) and yes best club too. Not just the SDBC (though technically the club booked the space) but was for all the buggies there so whether a member or not well done for being there. Am sure the event will be great again next year.
Journey home, ran very smoothly, engine running ok considering its still very new and running in so not yet set up 100% - got lots of minor tweaks to be done more on that later. Will also post some photos etc tomorrow. But great to meet a few folks on here. Graham from Hemel, old bugger, kenny h. Etc.
But big big thanks to Mark, Chris, Roadrunner (and "mrs" roadrunner) for sticking with me and helping out!
Its cos we love ya dude lol....the legend you are, may be electric, but its the silent but deadley predator lol...personally i aint gonna let something spoil my day i had a fab time ,boring near the end and well chuffed i won something ...but wouldnt have won anything without your lots advice ,lovely people you all are ...roll on next time .......wich should be not a show but a massive meet and a drive somewhere ..we build them to drive them !not to park in a muddy field ha ha ....my boy kai is well chuffed with winning the award and says thanks guys and he will be along next time he he ........andy truly your determination rocks you could have gave up but you didnt and thats proper hardcore as for everyone else nice to meet you all.......................right lets organise at my place (andys idea) and go for a massive drive somewhere ,What you think?............................buy the way if we didnt have the southern dune buggy club ..there would be no awards .x
Well done Chris. Nice to have a little recognition for a lot of graft!
Matt did that guy ring you about the wheels?
Thanks buddy and hopeing to see the street mantaray ;-)up
If you want a massive drive somewhere ...
How about coming to NEWS?? Doesn't seem to be many boys from the south coming?
It's free to get in, there won't be any trade stands. It will just be about the cars.
Can even rustle up some awards if you like?
How about ...... Longest traveled ?
Or ........ Most grazed knuckles building?
Or ......... Kids favourite ???
Can't swear to it not being a muddy field though !
sounds fab and always looks fab ,but dont own any camping stuff , ;-)up
Well I'm booked in for it! Chris if you can't camp, just come for the day. But come o,n in fact, actually chris, I have a massive tent (c/o pirate), has separate rooms, share mine! Lets get more at news - it's North, East, West and yes SOUTH too!
Or ....
Get a little tent from decathlon etc for less than 20 quid.
Everyone must own a sleeping bag?? Or just bring your quilt from your bed?
Even the little gas cookers are only a tenner.
Need big GP and Aaron to get on board as well !
andy sounds good ,i will see if i am available ;-)up
Here ya go. I was wrong.... It's more than 20 quid .....

Well done Chris! ;-)up

yep ..one up for team orange and one ha ha to all the orange haters lol ;-)up
Well done chris and well deserved you've got that buggy looking good nice to meet some more members :)

What is this NEW'S event, wear, when, etc. Any info please.
Have a look in the events bit that you are now in.
It's just a weekend meet up.
No show, no admission, no sales pitches etc
Just a group of buggy owners meeting up to talk rubbish.
Which is what's its all about right ?
It stands for North, East,West,South.
But there are never many people from the south who come.
Flags came one year in a huge down pour with no roof!!
And groove champion drove down from Glasgow with a tarpaulin taped on as a roof.
So come on Essex lads. A BBQ and a beer. What could be better ???
At the moment it's listed about 3/4 down the events list.
here is a link to Hazels site http://beachbuggybrummies.co.uk/news/ but it is listerd here and on Jon's site http://beachbuggybrummies.co.uk/news/
Be careful Chris, you coukd end up sharing a tent with Andre if your not carefull, best to get your own, and no nicking the Guides tents ;D
