A friend who works at Shobdon Airfield wondered if some buggys would like to come along as a display as part of the Shobdon Food & Flying Festival on Sunday July 2nd.

Current schedule:

There's to be a Spitfire and Hurricane fly past mid afternoon.

I'm going but anyone else interested in making it a group experience ?

A chance for one and all to come and sample some fresh Herefordshire air and part with some of your hard earned cash filling your buggys with local food stuffs...

A bump to the top, could include a visit to Ludlow.

The weather ensured this was really well attended. A handful of vintage cars, tractors and bikes alongside the planes and helicopters.

A pair of Ford Escorts were coloured as tributes to Allan & Vanessa.

Seemed to be a bit of a theme of engines without bodies:

Not everybody was in ideal summer clothes but there again they perhaps knew something I didn't:

A Hurricane flew over 3 times but I still didn't get a great snap:

Apologies Hugh I forgot all about this, vicky was car booting with the daughter and it would have saved me hedge trimming. Nice pic's

Hedges don't cut themselves and you want to be 'good neighbours' so right to have priorities.

I thought of you when I saw the 2 pistons from a Merlin engine lying around needing an engine to go in. The complete engine on the trailer next to it was selling an 80 min CD of it running - much that I can appreciate the roar of an engine I did think 80 minutes a bit for the dedicated.

Shobdon is a small airfield so I was impressed how they had 2 or 3 helicopters taking off and landing along with similar numbers of planes, all at one time, without any sense of danger to the crowds nearby - they had over 2000 cars yesterday and over 2500 today by the time I left at 4pm...

And best of all the Sidewinder is running sweetly.
