Hi all, I recall seeing a picture of a members buggy on here sporting a billet alloy steering wheel. I have seen a similar one I fancy called I think a bad ass 12" billet alloy wheel with standard grant 3 bolt fixing. Anyone know who it is and if available in the uk. Many yhanks

Thanks for the pic richyc, it's is similar but not actually as nice as yours ! But the fact it will fit my grant boss is a good reason for me to go for it. Anyone dealt with Pacific customs in California? Comes out at about 80 quid with centre cover but don't know how much it will cost to ship and if any duty payable, anyone ? 🤔

i think it was pacific customs i delt with when i was trying to find the right universal joint to match that column to the vw box,
Rang them in the end, Very helpfull staff and sent what i wanted quick, ask them to mark it as a gift and lower the value a bit, that way you'll pay less customs charges, however if it does go missing you'll only get the value of what they declare, as long as it isn't too heavy postage wasn't too bad, going from memory it was about £20 ish for the coupling and the flamed horn push,

Well, my new billet bad ass wheel arrived from the states , had a few sharp edges. So filed and emery clothed them smooth followed by wet and dry and solvol so feeling softer in my hands now. Went to bolt it on and Doh !!! No Dish to it !! Aargh ! Bit of an oversight there then ! Zero clearance for indicator stalk / fingers and less reach. Back to the drawing board , options are  a turned billet boss but shaft too short then, dish the billet wheel  and / or shorten / alter stalk , or combination of these ! Ho hum, do one job  and make three  , still,  no one said building a unique buggy was gonna be easy ! Anyone had similar issues and how did you solve it, I see Richie' c, 's billet wheel came with a matching column so no issue doing it that way.🤔

Took my wheel to engineering friend who is doing a cut and shut job on it and giving it 3" of dish to match the old grant wheel. A few hours and a fair few quits I 'll wager but he is doing a great job of blending all the curves and angles so it looks like it came from the factory like that,.... Some bloody clever people out there 👍

Wheel back and looking good, still had to cut the Ali stalk to give more clearance , so will reshape and reweld that too, another one off feature that will make buggy very individual! 👍
