I see you have the same pedal covers on as I had,i just changed mine back to standard beetle rubber ones cos when them ones you got wear out and you got wet feet your foot can slip off,this happened to me it slipped off the clutch when I was in gear in my garden luckily and not in traffic,i jerked forwards and nearly hit the wall.lovely and grippy now,mine were very old and worn though.

I agree with what you say about the pedal rubbers, although it has to be said, I wear fairly "grippy" shoes, so not had an issue myself.

Im putting an Empi Eliminator shifter into my 66 Ghia.
Meaning that my std Ghia shifter can come out & go into my 66 Buggy.
The Ghia shifter is as slim as an early beetle shifter, but has a nice angle to it.
Hope it works......

The black leather gaiter I found on ebay was just a triangular bit of leather which I have fitted with the top bit inverted and secured internally with a  cable tie.

The 4" stainless gaiter ring was also sourced separately through ebay (think it was for a Cobra?) and was bent to follow the shape of the center tunnel.

Yes,no excuses I do come on here and read the threads and look at stuff but when the buggys going ok I don't post much and luckily its been good lately I still use it every day,i will get some photos up of stuff ive done to it as I have an I pad now.glad to hear your cars getting sorted,Thanx Dave,
