Long bolts with big washers pulling down gradually should do it, preferably in a warm environment At the back 4 or 6 inch G clamps and wooden blocks in the rear inspection hole can help pull the body down. What body and how much was the chassis shortened by?

I put a calor gas fire in the garage and got it warm. Then pulled it down using long bolts and G clamps over two or three weeks.
I'm in my buggy,
It's raining,
I really don't care.

Its an FF body and its a LWB not shortened at all, so its just a case of tightening it gradually and allowing it too flex on its own over a period of days then, my main worry is over tightening and cracking it?

Can i ask once it fits well what bolts did you use for fitting? Did you use  beetle ones or just standard short bolts and washers?
Cheers

I use M8 x 30mm button head stainless screws with penny washers under the heads. Standard Beetle channel washers, flat washers and nyloc nuts underneath.

Yes. Most VW garages have bucket fulls of original ones kicking around. A wanted ad. here or on vzi may save you a few £££.

I'd use these under the screw heads, others may differ though.

Yes, about that I guess. You may need a couple of extra ones if the roll bar mount doesn't line up with one etc.

Hi Richard I am in Cornwall near Truro, you have duchy fasteners at perranporth , they will have virtually any screw washer nut or bolt you will probably ever need , really helpful, give them a try.

Before now I have had to use blocks of wood and jacksfrom the tunnel sides to spread the tub to meet the pan sides at the rear.

Fibreglass when new will bend a lot no problem as it ages with the years if gets harder and less flexible.
