Thanks roadrunner! It won't be a slouch, that's for sure

Manx, me too. I wasn't at Robs today, I had some stuff to do at home. Hopefully going over tomorrow night to get a video.

Well done Ben. You should be very proud of yourself. It's inspiring to see someone getting things done at an amazing pace. Just wish I could pinch some of that ability to finish things!

Ben you've approached this engine build like you did your buggy and it's only your vision and drive that finishes them. Sure you get experts to do the bits you can't, that's what most people do but to do what you've done in those time frames deserves a big pat on the back!

Thanks Keith. Far more Rob than me. I dismantled, cleaned and threw money at it. Rob put it all back together!! Been a long time coming and I did wonder at times if I'd bitten off more than I could chew....Robs been brilliant though. Couldn't have done it without him. It tested and frustrated us at times (and I'm sure I did frustrate and annoy Rob at times too...!) but we got there in the end.

It does sound even better than I expected. Yes, its blooming loud right now but its running open headers, with no silencing at all. I need to get a set of muffler inserts. We have just a couple of bits to do, like mounting the air cleaners and I have two more chrome bits to get to finish it off, plus a couple of air filters to go in the cleaners.

Just been having the debate about when it to fit it. If I got the gearbox back together, we could have it in as soon as tomorrow I think. However, it gives me two weekends to attempt to get 400ish miles under its belt before IBW.......its do-able although I'm not sure I want to do a journey that far, with a new box and engine for which I'll have no spares or support, or anyone around who knows anything about them..... There's a year of time and effort, plus a pile of cash that I don't really want to ruin by rushing....

Anyhow, last two parts of the puzzle arrived today...

Kennedy stage 1 pressure plate...

Malpassi Filter king pressure regulator with gauge...
