It is with great sadness that I am putting my buggy up for sale. I've spent a lot of time and money to get it to this stage and had many more grand plans, however I'm in the process of buying a house and need to get some cash flow in as soon as. I bought the buggy from Sawmill Jim 2 years ago and had a lot of fun with it running the 1776cc it had at the time. I then ended up getting my hands on a blown RV8 and it made sense to mate the two..
It's a Sidewinder built on a 67' pan, with IRS rear and Balljoint front. On the old wheels it handled very well and was a blast to drive, I've not driven it on the new wheels yet. It's currently set up for the RV8 with a Holley electric fuel pump and boost/water temp gauges. The wheels are ultra claws, 10x15 all around with custom made adaptors (THICK billet, not those cheap stamped ones). The rears are 33x12.5's, the front are 275/50's iirc. The buggy is not mot'd and will need a little work before the MOT, the amount of work depending on the engine choice you prefer.

The engine options are as follows:
RV8 is blown through a modified Wade RO43, as I didn't finish the conversion fully I've not heard the engine running but have been told it was a strong unit. It's estimated to have around 350bhp and that should be plenty for most. With the RV8 it's £10k. To get it ready for the MOT it will require the exhaust finishing (all bends etc included), radiator/fan fitting and wiring up (included).

Ford 5.0 V8 with a Kennedy twin clutch set up. The engine is from a low mileage (36k) mustang that I bought and broke specifically for the engine (much to the dismay of the mustang owners club..it was in great condition). This will need the same work as the RV8 in addition to engine mounts and a few other bits n bobs. The engine is a cast iron block and will make the front of the buggy very light.. £9k

I have a 2007cc type 1 engine currently powering my split, that's going to be replaced by another (bigger) engine in the future so can be available as an option for the buggy. The spec is:
Weber 44 IDF with CB air filters
CB linkage
Bugpack breather kit
Jaycee pushrod tubes
Scat rocker covers
Bolt-up rocker shafts
Pertronix 009
Scat alloy pulley
CB oil-pump and external filter
CB Deep sump
Alternator conversion
Turbo Thomas SS muffler or a stainless sidewinder exhaust if you prefer
Steve Tims Stage 1 Plus heads (big valve)
It pushes my split along nicely, I imagine it'd be a lot of fun in the buggy. Price is £7k with the stroker.

I have a 1300 TP currently in my chopped bug (also for sale..). I just spent £400 on a fully refurb'd GERMAN solex as well as a SVDA Pertronix dissy. It fires up on the key and has been a reliable engine. It's nippy enough in the bug, I'm sure it'd be plenty in the buggy,  £5000.
Finally, there's the option of buying it without an engine, that'd be my preferred option at £4500.

In addition to the engine specific work the buggy will need the rear suspension levelling as I was part way through raising it, one side is higher than the other.

Other unique parts are the Hurst shift handle and tiny billet steering wheel, it'll be a lot of fun to drive, regardless of which engine option you choose.
