The International Buggy Weekend (IBW) is being held this year in Dilsen Stokkem, Belgium

Not only a fantastic weekend of several hundred Buggies from around Europe, but for us lot from the UK, a truly epic Road Trip !

Most of us will be traveling in Convoy from various routes around the country (details to follow) with the aim of catching the overnight Ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, and then driving down to Belgium. Because its a Bank Holiday weekend, its very important to book the Ferry at your earliest opportunity, as its going to get very busy. Overnight Cabin is mandatory, and also gives us a nice rest.

Once you have booked your Ferry, you need to book your tickets for the event by sending Sabrina an email. There is also a "meal deal" option that covers breakfast and tea each day we are there - meaning you don`t have to worry about packing the Buggy with food (more space for Beer)

So Who wants to join me where? 

It depends how people want to travel from down your way but an overnight stay up here the day before would break the journey, I have not looked at direct  travel times to Harwich for you Southern crew but it is about 4 hours from here as you know.

Me me me. Wont take so much stuff this year so a few boxes of beer can hitch a ride home

Anyone interested from the South West, I plan to try and join up with the Midlands crew and travel across to Harwich also

Could do with some ideas of those who are interested here, so we can think about a block booking on the ferry again

I have now had a message off Patrick who says teh original location appears not to be big enough for the numbers likely to attend so they are arranging a new venue (still in the same area).

Thats around £50 for the weekend with meals, they have an english entry form on their FB page but on the i pad swapping it here may stretch my limited skills

Counting down the days

Harwich from here is a pig and a bit due to that big ugly blob they call London in the way.

A few of us (Me, Ollie and Dai so far) are looking at the train on Thursday afternoon from Folkestone to Calais then drive for a bit the other side before overnighting in an F1 or Ibis.

That would leave a couple of hours the other side on Saturday to arrive nice and early. (Yea right!)

If any other Southerners want to tag along you're welcome.
 

Granted Flags, its a much better route for the Southerners, but it does have one major drawback . . . .

you can mail your entries to buggyclubbelgie@telenet.be, we will send a  confirmation mail with details for payment, if you entry in advance the price will be the same at the gate, this is only for entries from the UK because transfers are not easy.

Just checked the return ferry for the monday hook of holland- harwich  night sailing has limited availability already but going out thursday night is ok.
May need a change of plan for the return as a convoy unless we get organised am  guessing the other means of crossing the channel will be busy being a bank holiday weekend.

I'm definitely in for this one. No bloody worries about those half arsed idiots at the passport office this time as I've a shiney new one........just need to get the fuelling on then Vair sorted otherwise it ain't gonna be cheap!!!!

if the crossing is a problem you can ask to stay for another day/ arrive a day early. very common to do so.
(and if needs be you can also stay at a campsite somewhere
for the ones traveling true hoek van Holland. id be delighted to help find a spot.)
