Hi Hugh, you have a type 4 engine there, the original mechanical fuel pump fouls on the beetle gearbox mounting cradle. So an electric fuel pump has to be fitted instead and a blanking plate fitted to the mounting hole. Facet do a fuel pump that works below 4PSI, this is what you need! some people like to run a pressure regulator as well but I have found no need when using the low PSI output pumps.

Really enjoyed looking at all your buggys, and a big THANKYOU to Shaggy for letting my son Jorge climb all over, sit in, and have his photo taken in your buggy. Cheers Chad for the spin around the show ground, really brought back the memory's of my old buggy.  My wife really liked the 'purple' one!

which say they run 1.5 to 4psi, so will order one.

The best fuel pump out an SU with points not a solid circuit, when they start playing up you get out and give it a knock so it works again but you can continue your journey knowing that you need to clean and reset the contacts in the near future. Not get recovered as there is nothing you can do with solid state ones.

It was good to meet up with some old buggy friends today and meet some new faces and buggy's. Sorry to hear Hugh, that your buggy didn't make the trip though. I guess I left ten minutes to late and got stuck in a heavy rain shower all the way home  Anyway the forecast looks ok for tomorrow, so I'll take the other buggy to the show tomorrow

Yes those Mini pumps were a bit big and ugly! so they hid them away. I remember clouting them when they got dodgy

Great day at Stoneleigh today, met loads of Buggy people, some young, some old, some older and better still some new ! Thought I'd post a few pics.....shout if it's your Buggy....

Made it home safe,sound and dry, thanks to everyone for a great weekend

Ditto    must say the old girl ran rather well, did lose the spacehopper once and recaptured it down the hard shoulder, it must have looked like that insurance advert on the telly ,great to meet old and new. See you all soon hopefully.

The driver of this one isn't on this site, but after having a quick chat to him about his buggy, he will hopefully be signing up to this site and joining us on our trips out
