2 more for team yellow.  :)
The manta will be changed to metallic blue, possibly with iridescent pearl in the clear coat

Think of it is a good investment as the value does not drop every year like a production car.

I don't drink or smoke, so what else would I spend my money on? And being single means i don't have to justify my spending .I am just a big kid at heart 8) 8) ;D, the bigger the kid, the bigger the toys

Have started rubbing down the manta, ready for it's new coat of blue metallic
In places you can see the history of this body over the years, starting with a very 70S gold
metalflake

Opened another can of worms with rubbing down the top surface, :o :o one of the lower coats is covered in micro blisters, >:( >:( so having to take it pretty much back to the gell coat, which is exposing previous repairs. :-\ :-\ Looks like my quick run down and blow over is turning into a full body restoration  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Feeling your pain as I have a very distinct feeling that I may be in the same position   :o :o :o.    I think my Manta is almost the same blue originally.   When I got it out in the sun a few days ago I could see some obvious previous repairs that have been done to a poor standard.  I am hoping to start on it next week as I am feeling back fit and well.   Unlike you I do drink (lots) and I have some catching up to do on that as well which may push things back a little  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Let look at this on the positive side - we can share the pain and that will make it easier for both of us  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wish that I could track down the (missing for 4 years now) Manta Ray moulds. £1K for a nice shiny new shell would save £ thousands in man-hours and paint.

I sort of agree, but starting to like the patina look I am currently rocking.
Today some more rubbing down took place,, and a sneaky marketplace purchase,  roll bar for a pickup, will need to be cut and shut, plus all the black paint stripped off.
Needing to be narrowed by about 8 inches and extensions made to reach down to the floorpan
