Love both the silver and the chrome.  Personally I would see what they look like with the lights on (especially in the dark).   You would expect more reflection from the chrome (possibly too much).  That may help you decide.

i've decided to go with the wrap cover over paint as this leaves me with options to change the wrap colour at any time.

Gone with the chrome effect wrap as a starter to see what feedback i get when its on the road, and might change it to black in a couple of months to see how effective it will look.

Well i cannot believe it but Mother's Day luck was on my side, took my parents with me to Volksworld and we ended up with a top 20 finalist award....

Another minor change to the buggy....with the rear lights being LED and looking nice, it was time to upgrade the front ones.



So it was out with the new old fashioned 5" ones and in with a pair of 7" LED Land Rover Defender headlamps with DRL and Halo indicator from Original Cafe Racer.

The chrome Headlight bowls were from H Bowers....

"Ludicruz"  -  A 10-year old Backyard Dream

This car is more than just a machine – it's the result of a 10-year journey between a father and his sons. What started as a wild idea, with zero experience and no background in cars, became a full-blown passion project that brought our family closer than we ever imagined.

The goal was simple: keep our father active and inspired during retirement by building a car together. My wife called the plan "ridiculous", and reminding me, "You know nothing about cars", She was right – I didn't. But that's exactly why we named it "Ludicruz" – a nod to how absurd the idea sounded at the start.

But this wasn't just about building a car – it was about building memories. Our father a retired mechanic with over 60 years of hands-on engineering experience, became our mentor and inspiration, and the heart of the project. He taught us the old school way – how to think creatively, solving problems without relying on the off-the-shelf solutions, and fabricate parts by hand when needed. Most of the car was built right in the back garden of our family home in West London. We designed, turned, machined, welded and fabricated countless components ourselves. No fancy equipment, no big-budget workshop – just hard work, determination and the kind of knowledge you cant learn from a book.

Ludicruz isn't just a custom-build car. It was about building memories, It's a symbol of perseverance, family and passing down of a lifetime of knowledge. What started as a way to keep our father busy became the most rewarding experience of our lives – and a project we'll cherish forever.

After a decade of trial, error, learning and love – we built something that looks like it rolled out of a high-end custom car shop. Our proudest moment came when Ludicruz was awarded a top 20 spot at Volksworld – one of Europe's biggest and most respected car shows- competing against over 100 cars built by some of the best in the business.

Today were living the dream we once joked about. This project has taught us more than how to build a car – its shown us that with the right mindset, anything is possible.

All you need is passion, patience and a little bit of "Ludicruz" belief.

In memory of a loving father, thank you for everything.
