right lads ive got a full flow system on my 1776 including a damn great oil cooler which was put on because the buggy lived in spain, but as it now lives here the needle on the temp guage rarely moves and also the 2 pipes that run from the engine to the oil filter i cant stop them leaking, so i want to do away with the oil cooler and move the filter to hang from the back of the engine, not the type that goes on the oil pump, have you lads got any pics of how these are done,  ideas please,

I am a big fan of hoses made by Pirtek. Ive got them on my buggy. the yellow buggy and the bus and touch wood I have no leaks from them. On mine the remote oil filter housing is bolted to a bracket which hangs of number 3 exhaust studs. I am not a big fan of this but saying that its been like it for about 4 years with no issues.









The yellow buggy has the filter mounted under the back seat section, this works fine and makes changing the filter very easy but also keeping it out the way of any debris being flung at it.



Best advice would be find a place to hang it and get the hoses made to plumb it all in.

ive put the stainless braided hoses on but i used the red and blue conectors but ive had nothing but problems with them, just been looking on machine 7 site and they used jubilee clips, but i also want to get rid of the oil cooler, it was 2 years before i noticed the gaude worked , i would use the mounting that goes on the oil pump but mine has been drilled for full flow so i need at least a couple of short lengths of hose,

went down to pertek this morning and did what you said testa and had a pair of hoses made up about 10 inch long to mount of cylinder number 3   ouchhhhhhh the price well if ya want the best i suppose, just got to make the bracket to hang it now,

I have spent a small fortune recently what with fitting a cb oil breather tower to the bus. The oil hoses I have fitted have not leaked so hopefully they will cure your problems.

in 5 years ive had the buggy its never been what i call a dry engine, what with dodgy pushrod tubes and numerous other things, ive just ordered a full engine gasget kit so i hope with a new oil pump gasget i can get rid of most of the nigerly drips,

If you were using Aeroquip style blue/red fittings with stainless over-braided hose, then I am really surprised they leaked, the hose has around 20,000psi burst pressure and the fittings are rated for similar levels, I don't believe any of mine have ever leaked.

If however you were using standard oil hose with a stainless cosmetic sleeve that is held together with Jubilee clips, then sure, I have known these leak.

I mounted my Oil filter bracket up by the rear light on the left rear of the buggy, the thermostat and oil cooler sit above the gearbox mounted to the underside of the rear seat. The cooler also has a fan that is thermostatically operated, all connected together with -10AN Aeroquip hose and fittings.

The filter is a System One unit that can be dismantled and the filter cleaned with an air line, not cheap, but you never have to buy another oil filter again.
