Looking good but that hole that's been cut in the tunnel by the pedals could do with plating as it will really weaken it. You can get away with things like that on a full bodied Beetle but once the Beetle body's removed the chassis relies on the tunnel for most of its torsional strength. ;-)up

The last owner had hacked the tunnel there so we cut out the crap and replaced it with a 3 mm plate bent to shape with the access hole, I'll get a plate made up to cover and stiffen the area  ;-)up

A round hole with strengthening plate welded around will probably be fine. The cracks propogate from the corners where the hacking stops.
