Hi Crowey, I like what you are doing to your buggy. I wondered if I could be cheeky and ask you how much you paid to have your wheels powder coated? The new kombat buggy I have bought had a nice wide set of wheels on it but they are chromed and have seen better day's, so wondered what the going rate was.

Hi Rob,

The front 14" were £45 each, they had no tyres on.

The rears 15" were £60 each but this included taking tyres off and refitting them once finished.

There was a vast choice of colours,3 blacks ,satin, gloss and black chrome !

Mine are satin black.

No idea, I've never seen it.

Is there nowhere up your way? I thought there'd be somewhere in Barrow for all the marine/shipyard stuff?

Were your wheels chromed before or painted?, Just wondered what preparation they needed before they could powder coat them

They were painted mate and sh.. up both powder coaters pressure washed them then shot blasted them all in the price. 

Dave fair point, I have a few friends in Barrow I will ask about.

Well had mega issues setting the gear lever up no matter what I tried I couldn't find first gear
I think it's sorted now but only a test drive will tell. Oh well that will have to wait a bit.

Fitted the battery boxes today, supplied by Peter of fibrecraft 


And fitted the headlights and indicators, indicators are fitted to the front beam.


Fitted the cylinder head tins which are metal flaked


The fan shroud was the same colour but the lacquer reacted so its getting stripped back for another go. We also trial fitted the bonnet and fuel tank  which took a wee massage with the mallet before it fitted 

Fitted the washer bottle and pump today



Then spent the day painting inlet manifolds and polishing the carb linkage,
Polishing I know I must be going off my rocker 

Polishing ..... well done mate and welcome to the world of bling 

Keep it quiet mate but I might even polish the exhaust 

Not much time today had to take me Dad carpet shopping

But got the rear lights fitted 



School run here we go 

Oh oh oh forgot to mention I've slapped some paint on the gauges 



Just waiting on some pointer paint
