I have spent most of this weekend trying to find all the pieces of the Buggy that were randomly strewn across the garage in an attempt to rebuild it. The carpets all went in perfectly, and luckily, all the holes that had to be redrilled could easily be located due to the indentations for the side window clips and rear luggage straps.

I am adding a few things this time around, so progress is not as fast as I would like it to be - but I really do not want to rush it this time.

I will also be adding the A-Frame mountings and Brake cables for my new Towing frame, and whilst doing that, I also plan to splice a trailer socket into the front of the car, so that the Buggy lights can also double up and act as a trailer when being towed. There are a few other bits and pieces, but I`ll cover those as and when I get around to them.

One thing I did do, once the front had been deep cleaned, was to paint the inner arches in black, and I think it really helps to make the green bodywork stand out. Upon recommendation, I used MIPA Bumper Black 1K paint, that is just wonderful to apply with a  brush, and gives a really durable Matt finish as it dries.

I am also suffering from a major distraction at the moment, and its my bonnet. I have had to hide it behind a wall in the yard, because everybody passing by our house (and its a very busy road) is stopping and staring at it in complete bewilderment. It has been photographed so many times by neighbours and passers by, that I have lost track. As many of you will know, taking pictures of metal flake is virtually impossible, and this car is now so sparkly, that whilst this picture gives a rough idea of its colour, it doesn`t even come close to showing the holgraphic effect that now runs up and down it.

And thats also the problem at the moment, because I cannot help myself from standing and staring at it either

Hope you've got a bit more used to it before it's back on the road, you probably don't want to be doing that from behind the wheel....

Liz and I will certainly be at Swanage this year for sure

Don`t know about the Buggy yet, as quite a few new parts have yet to arrive, and then there is its MOT

I`ll let you know next Friday afternoon  ;)
