Roll bar looks very neat and i like the idea of the triangle plate as the inertia reel mount.

Has it allowed you to spread out the bolt mountings to the pan so the energy isn't concentrated so much in one area?

The week before last, I went with Dad to pick this up from Farmer Rob's  It's temporary until mine is sorted but hopefully this will help me (possibly) get on the road in time for NEWS2013 



We were away for a week after that and then I had the Great Manchester Cycle to do!

Normal service resumed yesterday when Shaggy came round and help us get back on track. He helped me with the engine (or rather, I helped him) and Dad tinkered with the seat belt clips and other bits and bobs...

Going in this morning.

Does anyone know how to get the air filter in under the GP body, it just doesn't fit...  Any suggestions?

The air filter may need binning in favour of something else, only maybe though, as you
might have to get/make an airbox that will have the right shape to slip in under there...

The back end of buggies is famous for not allowing much room for air filters, height wise, but its possible
to reduce the filters height by slicing it horizontally, and dropping the top of it down.

Or even using squidgy foam instead. When the engine fitted is going to be the final one, it maybe that a new air box
can be made up and a foam or a standard shape filter could be used inside it. A foam only one will be able to mould itself
to whatever's in the way..... Not a great solution I know, but an option.

This is yet another area that always causes a bit of a faff about, and some body shells are better than others. This is
a reminder for me.... As Sally has the same issue and has not run a filter since she built her buggy, so I have to sort an airbox
with a low enough profile to fit her Weber and possibly go sideways, there are loads of very flat air filters on the
shelves in Halfords that I have looked at, some with a height of 16mm......

My Manta Ray had the filter on the outside as there was so little height available under there, Stell uses the space up under
the rear number plate cover I made, and I trimmed the body a little to accommodate the filter as this problem
was with me too. 

an aircleaner is a minor worry and the engine is not yours
the single carb is well up out of the way unlike twins so just fit a fine wire mesh over it to stop bigger stuff going in.

I'm keeping an eye on you Snoopy  GSF do a flat filter!. Will one of those fit in?

Rob my twin cam only has the coarse mesh outer on the pancake and nothing inside to stop small stuff and 182,000 miles with only 1 engine change due to wear.
Hazel just remodel the pancake you have to make it lower and cut one side off if needed to clear the tub it looks rusty anyway.

Will this do?
