Just got a petrol tank, because hopefuly one day I'll need one

It's a standard tank 70's tank.  What are all the pipes for   The obvious ones, filler, outlet to engine, then 2 more. A 10mm (ish) one next to the in filler, and a tiny one on the n/s of the tank. 

I was working on the theory of using the 10mm one for a beather, but what about the tiny one??

the 10mmm one as you say is the fill vent hose that connects to the neck just below the filler this hose also has a T peice in with a 2-3mm outlet which is the  breather vent hose that goes up across the dash frame on a beetle and exits inside of the nearside front wheel to stop fuel spillage if the car is rolled in an accident. 
the small one on the l/h/f can be blocked off it is level with the top of the fuel on a full tank and may well leak fuel out of the breather with expansion or can be used as a fuel return if carb the set up needs one.

Stephen, the shell went last night but managed to keep hold of the petrol tank with center mount. Wish you'd have mentioned you needed oue, Let me no if you want it as i have no use for it and ill bob you it up. would be no bother. Just not got a sender as i took it out for the fugitive.

Do you know Aiden, I spent about 7 years intent on a centre fill tank, but recwently decided that's just too common on buggies  ........ so I'm now going for an off-set filler. 

No offence to anyone with a centre filler 


(I might put a centre fill on the GP, but on current form that won't be for about 15 years  )

got the wiring (hopefully)  sorted on the fugitive today. Once we may get some nice weather ill bob up. Let me no if you want it. Yours free of charge dont want anything for it. Just thought id save it for someone that was more in need.

Not known on here. did point him in this direction though. Hes from Pocklington nr York. Hes got a manx aswel same colour st orange as the volksrod. 2 litre aswel haha. Nice guy. Said he only managed 300 miles in his buggy last year though so dont think he gets out much in it.
