Anyone had their front beam powder coated recently?
Ballpark how much will it cost for the main section to be blasted and coated gloss black?
In view of the temperature of the baking process, how de-greased do you need to get the  internals? and how does the heat affect the internal bearings?
Thsnks.

I've not had the front beam done. But I would speak to a few companies arround you. Prices seem to be regional and the companies will also advise on what you would need to do.

I've had various parts done. some parts are better painted if they need precision fit. but powder coating is best where durability is needed.
I've always used the same local company do my work for various cars, I know what finish they achieve and they are reasonably priced.

Yep.... Powder coating pricing varies.  Front beam ....  Have had them done by simply taking the trailing arms off and leaving the rest to the powder coaters. Thing to remember is to clean out any beam/bolt holes after they have been coated otherwise you will not the bolt etc thro` the hole

Also worth saying that I normally fill any threaded holes with spare bolts to keep grit and coatings out. otherwise its a case of just running a tap through them

Well worth masking over any mating surfaces, a decent company will give or sell you a roll of the heat proof tape. Bolt done up onto powder coat will risk loosening and damage the coating.
As with any job preparation is the key to a good finish, powder coat won't hide a rough surface it will just give you a rough surface in a different colour.
