Well... Last saturday I picked up my new ride



In all honesty, I would have preferred an IRS, but the rest of the car seemed solid enough
He imported the car from Norway, only had it for a couple of months and didn't have much info on the car
The paperwork says 31/12/1969, but who knows... judging the swingaxles, it might as well be a '68
I'm sure I can check the chassis number somewhere online

The engine is listed as a 1300 (F series), but it has later dualport heads, so I guess it's been upgraded somewhere along the line
It's nice and torquey and on the 100 mile trip home, it didn't miss a beat and had no trouble getting along with traffic

It has a front hood (or bonnet)
The fueltank has been narrowed and the battery sits right next to it
So less range (not an issue, wasn't planning on long trips) but it's nice to have some extra weight over the front axle I guess...


Rear end has a "corvette" look with a little lip/spoiler
Makes it way hard to access the carb / engine... So I'll have to make some changes there


I already readjusted the shifter, so the gears are where I expect them to be
Has a Empi t-handle shifter, considering a slightly longer triggershifter. We'll see
Do need to get a shiftrod bushing, 'cause it's gone

There's a ton of changes/upgrades to do, but most of that will have to wait 'till fall/winter

That is a novelty 2/3 of a fuel tank with the battery next to it, but you have a useable buggy for the summer so a good result.

Yep..... That`s a first for me as well   

First parts are in 
Fancy new Empi shiftrod coupler and bushing
Install will have to wait a little, as I broke my arm/wrist last week 

What is it about 2026 and arm/shoulder issues. Keep meeting folk with things on the go.

Wiring in this car is an absolute nightmare...
Total rats nest, botched together wires going in every which direction
Found wires that change color 3 times
Makes me wanna rip it all out and start from scratch

Oh yeah... the fact that I'm a total noob when it comes to wiring doesn't help either 

That said, I managed to install a new fuel gauge and sender (generic tube type from Amazonia, €50 including the gauge)
Not sure about the accuracy, but it looks like it's working so far  

Fuel gauge looks smart - dramatically red to get the heart pounding !

Time for some red LED's in the other gauges
