took my everyday car for its mot   it passed again with no adviseries  was talking to the  owner and   the previous owner  still works there   as a tester     about    the law changing over  mots now needed for  buggies and kit cars over  40 years old ,  both of them  knew nothing  about the new rules  wonder how many people  still thing there buggys are mot exempt    and still  driving them  unaware of the changes     

Most testers don't know the rules about what does and doesn't need testing, they don't really need to, they just test what's presented to them as ever exempt vehicles can have voluntary tests carried out.

The DfT have admitted that there were errors in their last statement made on the  .gov.uk website so the MOT exemption section for Historics at least is currently being rewritten so watch this space...
