Well the chassis / rolling stock looks a great platform. All the other pieces scattered about seem dry and essentially all there so now it 'jsut' needs assembling.

The above pics are my much loved buggy that has been off the road for twelve ish years. It's been stored in a farm building and I've regularly turned the engine over to keep it free.
I've been saying for to long "I'll get it back on the road next year". This buggy has given me so many good happy memories in the past, and just uncovering it, has put a huge smile on my face.

The chassis pictured is new to me and the rest just as I left it all those years ago. It needs work for sure but hopefully not to much
I'll try and remember to document my re build but I'm a shocker for forgetting to take pics as i go.

The 'barn find' style storage isn't ideal but it looks dry and if secure under your control then not too many pieces should have been pilfered for other uses over the years.

You could chill then carefully open the energy drink but it may have become slightly metallic. However, I'd convert the can into a off off coil covering on your reborn buggy.

I would quite like to re do the dash minimalist and this one has been chopped about a bit.
Do any of you know if it's possible to get this style? It's a GP mk2
I've seen one made to order on EBay for a Manx i think, but it's not quite the same and i do like the design of my current one

Kingfisher Kustoms have the GP molds so may do one or Rob at east coast buggies may do a suitable dash, there is a californian buggy near me after a dash board.

Is your buggy long wheelbase? If so in theory getting the logbook description changed should be a paperwork formality by sending in a V627/1 form (Built up vehicle report) and a few photos showing chassis number, tape measure showing standard wheelbase measurement and a couple of general ones. The chassis and floors must be completely standard though.

Keep the answers on the form as 'Standard VW' as possible.

If you need to change the colour do that first after you've got it registered in your name...one thing at a time or they get confused. Just fill in the relevant section on the V5C and send it off, no photos or proof needed. I'd still be inclined to keep a photocopy though.

Yes, it's just a case of filling in the new colour on the V5C and sending it off.

Theory is great but when I rebuilt the wife's beetle the V5 went off twice with blue to green change and came back blue so the third time I included a photo and they did it.
