I'm sure an adult will get involved here but uppping and lowering the beam does not improve handling  it's all about geometry good bushing tie rod joints ball joints king pins  vw never used a sway away imo👍

it does when the centre of gravity is  lower   plus  running smaller tyres so want to   reduce the gap between wheel and arch

on a ball joint beam you can remove the 12 small torsion bars, it goes lower and softer.

Or buy for instance some 65 profiles tyres for the front luvvley soft ride @ 15 psi 🤔

Ayr in Scotland? If yes then Ross Morrison at RMR restorations has a place between Erskine and Bishopton. He has done lots of work on VW's and i know he has welded in adjusters before. You will find him on FB.

I didn't think it was 85 miles from Ayr to Bishopton? I'm in Erskine.

its not but i am 17 miles from ayr    and   it would be    4 journeys to get the job done

Why not contact Ross if you're heading up this way and see if he would do it that day and pick up on your way home?

Have you tried RC Coachworks in Ayr? I just did a quick Google search and they popped up.

It says on their website that they do structural repairs? Ross is a nice guy and certainly knows what he is doing.
