So I got a buggy which did have harnesses before I got it. Now it has nothing. It's a lwb and I want to fit both front and back 3 point seat belts. I do have a roll bar which I could potentially fasten to but would love to hear from anyone with advice or even pictures. What is the legal guidance I'm sure there will be some rules. There's always rules for everything.

The IVA book covers it to the required standard an mot tester will look and pull for security.. Look on line for land rover roll bar seat belt mounting tubes these require a 19mm hole through the roll hoop and then welding in they have 7/16 unf internal thread for the seat belt bolts.

Take a look at my build thread "birth of a buggy". I have details on there of how I fitted 4 point seat belts which sailed through iva inspection. 3 point belts are just as simple to fit. On the likes of car builder solutions etc you will find retractable seat belts, 3 & 4 point that will operate at vary angle to suit your needs. Easily adjusted.. just follow the simple instructions that come with them....  The important thing with seat belts is that you fit them so that the shoulder strap lies over the shoulder and does not pull into the neck joint. Same with the belt section that goes over your thighs. Make sure the strap lies over the upper thighs and does not dig into hip joint area. Mot... simply visual check that the strapping etc is in good order and that any mounting points do not show corrosion. It is quite an easy task if you be methodical.
