Yeh I was a bit shocked at the price as well.   The Chrome ones are a bit cheaper which surprised me as they normally charge more for them.  I guess plating cheese must have got cheaper 

I have seen two chrome plated aftermarket ones break apart well before VW`s quoted torque setting was reached. Says it all to me

I think those chrome ones should be treated in the same way as the Red Ring of Death as the quality is just plain dangerous
