Well , admittedly I came here , to this site with a "not" buggy , ie a sandrail , I've had the pleasure of asking you all questions and taken some great advice , thank you .

In the middle ( beginning ) of my journey to get the old gal running again , my life turned around and it all got put on stop for a while . Earlier this year I was able to find a new premise to carry on with my build , slowly , like so slow I was probably going back in time .

So , anyway , I'm beginning to win a little .... And then my friend who I bought the original , first one from , comes along and says , there is another one nearby with a seriously low starting bid  ,and has a log book to match , a  semi complete project and proceeds to send me the eBay listing ...

I'm like yeah , looks good , but I've already one that I haven't finished ...

Fast forward 5 days later and he's convinced me it's a good idea ... and voila , I find myself bidding , not expecting to win it , and before I know it , I've bloody won it .... He collects it for me as he has a car transporter .

Sooooo here she is 🤣 for those that don't know of my previous posts the new one is gaudy orange ( but not for long ) .


Plus a load of Brucey bonus parts . I know have 4 engines worth of gear , cases , parts , too much to be honest .

Since the start of the first one , I cut the rear beam out ( swing axle ) and replaced with an IRS set up . The new one is SA , so I'll leave it ,best of both worlds .

The plan is to rework it , but no a lot , and build up 3 x 1600 engines , one as a spare , plus if I'm learning to build one , I might aswell do them all at the same time .

Always good to play to your strengths and Sandrail enthusiasm seems to yours.

It does seem there's a risk of 'breeding' with two plus abundant spares.

a good buy could be a UVA or Kommando fame not looked at any photos lately to be 100% either way team orange will be happy

Cheers mate , I've got to admit I do like them in the sense that they can be body panelled or completely uncovered ...  plus the ease to modify them .

As you say , it seems I've become a bit of a magnet to parts plus I'm a hoarder  now ..

I've got to admit I bought it as a "sandrail" / uva but I'll be honest I'm not to familiar with the Kommando .

It does have the exactly same fibreglass panels as my other one . They are currently off the orange one as I'm having to tackle some really really bad stick welding effort where someone has decided to weld some 1.6mm sheet on the top of the tube frame floor . Like seriously rip your face off if you fell on it ...

An hour or so grinding done and now a couple of hours tig welding as I want to fuse it better but not add any more material ..

I think it was keith, (snoopy) who posted a picture of the worst welding I had ever seen in over 55 years..... Literally blobs of weld on the floorpan steel that was attached to nothing else.
