Evening gents , bit of a puzzle , sort of , whilst it is obvious it is an air filter type set up , the question is for what , is it for Carbs or for the Engine air intake . Given then DPV / FAV were designed for use in hostile environments and were renowned for over heating , even though they fitted them with water cooled engines aswell .

So what would you gents and ladies say , carb or engine intake . Seems high up for engine intake port but in the same breath wouldn't take much to duct it down .

As for why , well I just think it looks "trick" as the cool kids would say

Cheers

I would have thought that the bit (filter) you seem to be missing at the top of your carb would connect to that round outlet at the base of those twin filters

Morning Dave , this isn't my rail but one gleaned off the net a long time ago but has no explanation . And I fancied making a copy of it . I spent hours trying to find out what it was for and finally , this morning after random searching while I was powdering my nose , I managed to find the FAV manual . And yep , as you said it's for the Carbs . It looks to be a fun project even with a bit of gear scratching .

You could fit a standard weber twin filter unit blank offf the intake gauze with ally plate the drill the top plate to fit a hose to the top filters

Now there is a plan , as it would save a lot of time fabricating an adapter to go from carb to the hose .

I'm just working out what I need bracket wise welded on now . As once it is painted I don't want to have to weld later . All I've done recently is make a s weld on brackets for bolting stuff too .
