18 years ago this week the body for my Doon came out of the moulds, delivered and placed on my chassis a great Christmas present





In November 2005 the buggy was finished and got it's first MOT, it is still as much fun to drive today as all those years ago

First run out of the year 

19 years ago, today I started stripping my 1972 Marathon Beetle to build a LWB Doon Buggy. It went on the road in 2005 and is still driven when ever possible

The shell looks reasonable. Don't s'pose it's tucked away in your wardrobe? 

The shell is long gone, the reason for building the Doon was that whilst the chassis and running gear was in good condition the body was shot.

The heater channels, doors, the doors hinge posts and the area's where the wings bolted on to the body all needed replacing with new steel parts / panels.

Somebody had spent a lot of money and time on filler and fibreglass!

Thanks Dave, really has not changed much since I built her, still as much fun to drive and makes me realise how boring modern cars are.

20 years ago this week my Doon body was born and delivered by Chad, still great fun

Ben my son took the Doon to Goodwood last year to take part in the opening parade each day





The company Ben works for prepared the TVR that won the Tourist Trophy Race
