Well finally got the farmer rob built type 4 in and i've been running it in over the last sunny week as been off work. It's been great really, loads of torque, great sound and looks great hanging out the back!
Borrowed a set of cannons off of master engine builder farmer rob as the csp python i ordered didn't fit  , top bloke is Rob, always ready to give advice and talk engines and buggies and that has been very much appreciated.
Here's a pic or 2 of the few days blasting about the Norfolk coast, any excuse to get miles on it to finally unleash it I even offered to drive the wife 23 miles to her allotment and back  It's half way to 500 so not long before it's good to go.
Anyone want a farmer rob built fully balanced and lightened 1641 high spec motor, its sitting at his place after a good check over and run ready to bolt in and drive home.

Yes but for the better, no skipping across drains or white lines so all good

Yes even though running it in you can still feel the grunt especially like 3rd and 4th just a little throttle and its already doing 10mph more, love it.

Type 4 ? I thought the dipstick came through the middle of the fan belt on a type 4 - 



I thick you may have the later Type 25 like mine with the dipstick coming over the top of the air intake.

Could be wrong, but I thought that was a quick way to identify them   

Well spotted Dave CU cases off a T25 with the fan shroud and heads off the earlier type 4 engines. I had early alternators but no T25 ones, so a mixed bag. 17/1800 crank, 96mm B+P's, C35 cam and 40 twin dells with short manifolds. I think you can still call it a type 4 engine
