Sorry John, I have not got any photo's but I'm sure Ben will still have plenty. He is ben_w on this site or Ben Wells on facebook. He has got a build thread on here but there are loads of pages to troll through. Those exhaust valves look dam close to the cylinder walls

My exhaust setup was getting on my tits, as it was obnoxiously loud, and after a rather long look-around, I came to the conclusion that nothing I liked was all that affordable, and the level of silencing a bit unknown. So I decided to fabricate my own silencer boxes.

Decided on 5" diameter cans, and didn't want any sharp corners at the ends, as I thought they'd look exactly what they were - home made, so decided to turn up some tooling to spin / roll the edges of the intended end plates for the cans, just some 127mm ally and made a roller similar to a knerling tool, but smooth. that would roll one half of the radiused edge, and I would pein the edge of the 5" tube to create the other half.
Weld em up, dress em, polish em (all this in 304 Stainless Steel).

Took quite a few hours all in all, but I'm pretty pleased with the results, and more than happy with the new level of silencing

It's not easy to see from the pics how the baffling was arranged, but this sketch shows it better....

That looks like another professional job  Hopefully that should give you a lovely exhaust note

Made up some supports from the back of the heads too. (the castings of which are completely different left to right, so they're not symmetrical)

The silencer cans sit in a semi circular cradle, with a little fibreglass cloth as a pad, and a stainless jubilee clip around them.

Also completely re-engineered the attachment and sealing setup where the headers meet the cyl head ports, as the way it worked with the original cannons was bloody awful, kept leaking and driving me nutz. All works quite nicely now.

So the only bits used from the old setup, is the header tubes themselves.

It's been a bit of a slog, but we made it. Still not 'finished' , but a lot closer that we were at Christmas.
