Hi all,

The eldest lads beetle is running a 1776 on twin 34ict's, ran great last year, but despite what we try it won't run.

We've checked points, timing, plugs and changed the fuel it starts but won't rev and soon dies after 15 seconds🙄

Any ideas

Its got a 009 dizzy flamethrower coil electric fuel pump plugs are gapped correctly correct firing order pulled the plugs and they were extremely sutty like carbon.

Cleaned the jets out checked for vac leaks the jets are as come with the carbs. Fuel pressure is unregulated but there are no leaks?

could be sticking needle valves the fuel goes like jelly when standing,  also take the slow running jets out from  the side of the carbs pull the jet out of the carrier and blow them through.

Got it going snoopy stripped the carbs down was a good learning experience as I've never stripped carbs to that extent changed the coil put a flamethrower on run rough as anything done timing again at 7.5 BTDC rough as a badgers a*** changed points and condenser looked in that John muirs book and said to time to TDC no 1 as 1970 was a one off year ? And it runs sweet as a nut now might try it to 7.5 BTDC as it's supposed to be?

result there then just some fine tuning.
