Have got to fit a new dual circuit master cylinder tomorrow, unfortunately my lad thought he was doing me a favour and removed the old one today and can't remember where the brake pipes went to ( and he is supposed to be a mechanic) It has 2 outlets at the front end of the buggy and 2 in the middle. Am I right in thinking the 2 at the front of the master cylinder are for the front brakes and 1 of the 2 in the middle is for the rear circuit and the remaining outlet in the middle is for the brake light switch.

The dual circuit master cylinder has 2 different size pistons inside it.

The way you are suggesting connecting it up is correct for a standard bug/buggy with drum or disc brakes as you want the bigger piston in use on the front brakes.

I connect mine up backwards as I wanted the larger piston for the 944 callipers I have on the rear and use the smaller piston for the Talbot Horizon Callipers on the front which are in turn connected through a Hurst line loc.

I've never come across that, every dual circuit cylinder I've come across has been bored 19mm plus a gnat's knacker straight through. They got the front brakes coming on before the rears by the way the rear's outlet port is drilled.

Cheers for that, all sorted now anyway. Just a blind panic when I looked the other night when I got in and see what he had done, he had tie wrapped the together and wrapped them in a plastic bag and failed to look where they had come from
