Windscreen rubber fitted perfect even though it was a pain to slide through.  Woolies were excellent help and David thanks again for telling me which one to buy.
I have a sample piece a few inches long if anyone wants it to try on their buggy, it's the rubber between the windscreen and the bonnet.
