I need to use an '02 steering column on my buggy, but this won't bolt up to a torsion beetle steering box. There are fewer splines and the diameter if the shaft is different.

Does anyone know if I can fit the worm gear from an '02 box into a standard box or am I missing a more obvious fix?

Thanks

Never used a 1302 column but a welder will be your friend. having u/j's you can dump the flexy coupling and bolt the shaft bottom coupling straight to the box one.

it's the splines and diameter of the UJ's that don't match the torsion type steering box.

I had considered welding the small splined T piece (that joins the original column to the rubber ring) directly to one end of the UJ shaft but that's a last resort really. Looking for a more "factory" fix
