the good old days when you phoned up to order parts sent of a cheque and waited a month for the parts to arrive :(

talking to the older generation their general consensus is the went through the war as children but had great times through the 50's,60's 70's and since then it is a downward spiral and they are concerned for the youngsters in the future, I must agree being born in the 50's I have had some great times and seen rapid progress as well as all the 70's glamour models in custom car mag and at shows now not PC.

Yep - the internet has changed a lot of things . . .

Now we place an order online . .   Pay Instantly . . .  And then wait a month for it to arrive from China  ::)

Anyway, that's all not going to happen again I guess.......  ;D ;D

No it`s not Pete  Having my teens thro` the 60`s. & then on into the 70`s has left me with countless memories and the older I get the more I look back over in extreme nostalgia.
The 60`s started with a great deal of optimism within my generation especially when Kennedy was elected. The dark side of the Vietnam\Cambodia war fought by the French in the 50`s, (where the term killing fields and the red rambo headband originated) plus the upheaval of the southern us states because of the coloured equality issues was for the most part counteracted by the race for the moon, the concorde project and flower power. By the time the us pulled out of Vietnam in 75 things had turned a corner. Viciousness seemed to rise rapidly both in the us and here in the uk and things simply were never the same.
If I could go back to any decade of my life... without a moments hesitation I would choose the sixties. As long as you didn`t kill anyone the world was your oyster... build what you liked. drive what you liked within reason.... and there`s the crux of it all .... reason prevailed.  ;-)up ;-)up

Should we move this over to a grumpy old men's thread and off Pete's for sale thread, or just leave it here and hope he's thankful of the 'bumps.' ;D

Cheques? Oh get Rockefeller over there! Postal orders please! ;-)up

Anyway Pete, have you got any Wire Mags? Like these?
