I have fitted rear seatbelts to my lab  fibre fab I made a bar an fitted it over gearbox it is held by the two top gearbox/engine bolts it is solid an holds lap belts well no chance of bar bending is thick angle iron will this be ok 4 mot

Tester will give them a good tug, if they are secure it will pass

I was responsible for the seat belt testing on a UK-designed car fitted with a centre lap belt, one of the last before they were legislated out.  The test simulated a full-frontal impact from 30MPH, and required dummies to be fitted to all three rear positions. The outcome was that the outer dummies both survived relatively unscathed.  The centre dummy didn't; the lap belt literally cut it in half.

They are dangerous but I fitted some in the back of the kango to strap the child seats in back in the 80's they were removed later to save them being checked on the mot.
