https://www.facebook.com/funkyflakeshed/# Hi all, heres a link to my latest project, ive been wanting to do this since I got my buggy 3 years ago but didn't have a clue back then how to go about it,eventually learned to spray by doing guitars and bikes etc,so recently built a big tent with tarps and a load of giant bamboo I cut down locally, pulled the car apart as far as I dared go and did a couple of weeks of fibreglassing and prep, filthy job covered in yellow dust every day, eventually got to prime it with 2k primer and then 2 coats of purple velvet metallic base coat followed by a good covering of purple and purple holographic flake mixed with 2k clearcoat,i got the biggest flake I could get so I will be clearcoating and sanding and polishing for the next couple of weeks.i would have liked to start a thread on this but my ipad is rubbish on photo bucket,i will try and get some pictures up as it comes along. thanx guys.

Thats going to look wicked weasel, glad you rigged up a place to spray it, I used to paint cars back in the eighties, i am nr newquay and still have compressor and guns   Air polishers etc so if you are having to hand polish you are welcome to bring it up here for flatting and polishing / mopping, have various compounds and foams here. Have done load in the past, bare metal repaints on 911, s type jag, spitfires, marlin kit car (fibreglass), 240z, and numerous others. So if you need help machine polishing etc i would be happy to oblige. 👍

Thanx mate that's a nice offer but I cant move it till its all polished and put back together again,it has to stay apart to polish it properly,i do have a mini air polisher here but does look like I will be doing most of it by hand, the flattening anyway.its had 5 coats of clear so far since I shot that video and ive gotta do the bonnet yet,one more good coat of clear and should be done I rekon,if you find yourself down Falmouth way drop in and have a look my number is 07896968253, are you heading to Swanage in july?

Hi,quick update on buggy spray job, all is going well but it has been a hell of a task having to build the spray tent as well,no help from anyone ,first I dealt with rains that almost collapsed my tent so I reconstructed it and been working in there for the last couple of weeks and then the winds came this week and its been getting hammered by 45 mile an hour gusts and while I was working in there in the wind the postman brought me a letter from the council saying an anonymous person has complained that I'm making noise and creating odour with car mechanics, please phone the council it said,i did but the woman I have to talk to has gone on leave for a week.i only have 3 neighbours 2 are lovely and the other ones are the ones who complained, the same ones that called the police on us the first day they moved in to our street because my dog growled at their kid who was in our garden. Living next to people isn't for me,every time things are going well someone with so little going on in their lives will try and throw a spanner in the works.you could barely smell a thing from my temporary tent and the compressor only kicked in every now and then for a minute and I only used it between 11am and 4pm.any how its all done now I just gotta polish it.While I was writing this my partner came in .shes been to the estate agents and arranged a viewing for a detatched property with a double garage and a workshop, she dropped a picture of it on to the key pad,i love you Emma x  ps all of these neighbours have loads of kids that scream and run in a pack waving sticks around next to your cars,i love our house and garden but we gotta go.

Ha Ha...   deja vue

I work in and outside of a small garage and a garden shed.  Live in a small semi....

The adjoining semi, which results in two small drives between houses leading to the garages, means this neighbor is closest to my garage. This couple couldn`t be more helpful and never, never complain.

However the couple in the other half of my semi are totally different. If they smell the slightest whiff of paint, see the slightest bit of smoke from the chimenea or the compressor starts up or the grinder buzzes they scowl over the fence, put their washing out and so on.

I know exactly how you feel. Good luck in moving home....
