Mot not an issue,it was the fact that there seems to be a small amount of play 'somewhere'. No play in the joints anywhere or the trailing arms. Done about 30 miles and checked the bearings, lovely. The whole spindle assembly moves slightly when wiggled with hands top and bottom, am damded sure the long rod is flexing, unless maybe the rod end on the steering box has play, just thought as writing.  ???

On the mot,and doing wheel bearings this weekend, grabbing the passenger front  wheel top and bottom there seems to be a small amount of play. Ball joints good, track rod ends good. Even had a good going over the trailing arms. I lost patience and did the bearing up firm and the only thing I could see was a slight flexing of the long steering rod. Does this sound normal ??

Well I know most of my messages get misunderstood, but Dave.
So,if you decide to buy and fit red9 job,one day maybe years later, for example the shocks may need to be replaced.
So that's why give you the list,so you know what to buy. ;-)up

Pretty sure red9 give you a list of parts and numbers so your hunting blind for replacements.

7
Dave, the reason for knowing the weights of me buggy the other day was to get custom shocks,I'm not a crazy nerd, if your going for it may as well go for it.

My friend has a red 9 on his race bus,he can't rave on enough about them. Although he does rant on about everything. ;D
I have chatted with the red9 blokes and he said people change the bolts for stainless......big mistake......they brake. They have to be high tensile,,so they probably are gunna look rusty after a while. :D

Try this geezer,he's usually at slough. He gets them from a place called protect shocks, they have a website. Probably best to through this bloke as he is a vw guy and will guide you on what information is needed. The place is only 20 min drive from where I live, but would still go through him.

Although to be honest it sounds like your buggy has had it's day,can I have your roof before you scrap it ;D
