Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / Re: Venting to carbs
« on: January 13, 2021, 10:56:57 PM »
Only potential benefit I can see is some negative pressure on the crankcase so effectively forced breathing when added to the positive pressure from the thread on the pulley.

My 2 cents on this - When I connected the breathers to my carbs, the negative crank case pressure cured 100% of my oil leaks - None were ever serious, just those bloody annoying little weeps around the crank seal and pushrod seals - All gone  ;-)up

Only problem I have is deciding what colour Chad's buggy is  ;D

Been the subject of many a topic and even a quiz on here   :-\

Nobody knows - Not even Chad  ::)  :P  ;D

Only ever used these guys for Bike speedos (albeit many moons ago) , but may be worth a shout?

Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / Re: 006 or 004
« on: January 12, 2021, 09:54:51 AM »
As people would Drive there VW's to a Garage for maintenance etc and It takes hour's for the engine to go back to size So the valves would be set why the engine was still Wide/Hot So VW made it 006 to be on the safe side.......So as long as the engine has not been used for like 24hrs? Set it at 004....

Makes a lot of sense - just never heard it explained like that before   ;-)up ;-)up

Something very odd happens to the order of pics when I post on here.

I select them in order of progress, but the system here seems to kindly re-arrange them for me.  Apologies, I guess I need to do them in smaller numbers :-/

Its actually a glitch with Postimage that seems to upload them last first - they are aware of the problem, but seem uninterested in fixing it.
In the meantime, I have given you a "MODIFY" button, so you can edit your own posts and cut/paste the pictures in correct order

Is Chad still doing them?   :-\
Yes. He's said he's not sending out kits and diagrams but will do a rewire on the actual buggy.

Thought I recalled him saying something - Thanks for the update   ;-)up

If someone from SDBC could indeed list these, I`ll put them as a sticky on here for all to see   :-)Geek

Gonna see how these look vapour blasted (the nanifolds Iíve fabricated) as I quite like the colour of natuaral Ali.

If they donít look good enough, Iíll revert to powder coating.

Most powder Coat Chrome finishes come out looking more like Ally than chrome   ;)
