Events, Cruises and Gatherings / Re: after the gloom a bit of news on Ashbourne 2021 9th -11 th July
« on: February 27, 2021, 09:32:09 AM »Never knew it existed but it looks an interesting place and not to far, would be a good stop on the cruise.
It sort of doesn't exist. It's a new museum which hasn't opened yet due to covid. Was due to open last year, but they have started posting info on FB again and hope to get going this year.

The "Great British Car Joirney" museum is nearby and was due to open last spring/summer. With any luck they'll get the doors open this year.

Beach Buggy Electrical Help / Re: Bat flattery
« on: October 30, 2020, 07:15:18 PM »Mines just wired so everything except the starter motor cable on one side and a whopping wire the other side to the battery
BUT that means no parking lights or hazard warning lights without the switch on if that bothers you
Same here.
But worth noting, that does not act as an engine kill switch when wired that way.
You can get a better switch which incorporates an engine kill facility.

Beach Buggy Rolling Chassis Help / Axle gaiters, again!
« on: October 03, 2020, 11:21:37 AM »
I replaced tge axle gaiters a while ago, but I'm not at all happy with the fit of the circular clips at each end. Icm going to remove them and use the previouly fitted jubilee style ones.
So, what's the chances of being able to do this without draining the box?
I'm guessing perfectly doable if I want my garage floor covered in box oil, otherwise don't try to cut corners. Am I correct?

Gotta be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reference. Splinter was a rat.

Welcome. I guess you from the comments here, and the photos from your trip, you were in Blue Pearl (Moon, Monday, whatever
) and presumably The Mystery Machine too.
Look forward to meeting you at some time.

Do you think an exhaust willl help?

Yes, borrowed a pair of cannons for now. Will get a merged exhaust made soonish.

I'm not very good at keeping this thread up to date.
Since the last update I've replaced the engine with a rebuilt 1776 item from Farmer Rob. Painted up some new tinware, and added twin carbs.
Been for my first real drive with the new engine today, out to Skipton and back. Knocked 50+ miles of the running in process. Happy days.

Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / Re: Cracked starter solenoid
« on: September 09, 2020, 09:06:58 PM »The plastic cap holds the main power connectors, so sooner or later it will break more and fail or the wet will get in and corrode the connections. So are you good or do you need another one?
Rob
I'll just run the spare Rob.
