Beach Buggy General Help / wiper arms
« on: December 06, 2017, 09:33:12 PM »
Evenin folks.
i vaguely remember reading a while ago about some problems with wiper arms not fitting against the screen properly (those with the all in one bonett/screen) something to do with the screen angle vs the positioning of the vw wiper motor/spindles? whilst doing my body prep i noticed some indentations from the area where spindles come through the bonett, so it looks to me like there was too much pressure from the arms on the screen forcing the washers for the spindles back into the bodywork, obviously i dont want that hapening again so did anyone have a home made solution or a different manufacture to pick some new better fitting ones from?

Beach Buggy Rolling Chassis Help / what steering column?
« on: October 26, 2017, 06:24:53 PM »

Motamec Pro Rally Deep Dish Universal standard mounting - 6 hole 70mm PCD Fits: OMP/ MOMO / Sparco / Mountney steering bosses
i'm looking at a quick release boss kit for it and found this on flea bay
my buggy reg is a 72 and i assume most of the canibalised parts are from the same vehicle/year so reading through the compatability list it states beetle 74 up, this is where im getting my head twisted coz i thought the only difference was a pre 69 steering column has a flute in the neck behind the splines and after 69 i thought they were all the same a straight shaft ?
any advice on this is most welcome, i cant get to my steering column to take a pick or measure the splines at the min as its tucked away in the far corner of the garage out of reach till i can mover the buggy saturday
